Why do I have to pay to become a franchisee?

Franchisors spend years and hundreds of thousands of dollars developing a way of operating a specialised business that, when applied correctly, will be successful. Your franchise entry fee provides you with everything you need to start your business from day one. And as part of a franchise network, your chances of success are greatly increased. Joining a franchise has mutual benefits for the franchisee and franchisor that’s why it’s the most popular business model in the world.

What are the upfront franchise fees?

The upfront charge is $35,000 or $55,000 if you want to include a fully signed Award Bookkeeping Company car as part of your agreement. Read more about this special offer under ‘Driving Your Business Further”.

What are the ongoing franchise fees?

The Award Bookkeeping Company ongoing royalties are fully fixed at $260 plus GST per month plus 8% of turnover to a maximum of $700 a month.

What is the Award Bookkeeping Company target market?

We target our marketing at businesses that are registered for GST, turn over less than $5,000,000 pa; and employ less than 5 people. There are over three million of these businesses around Australia.

Is there an exclusive territory?

We do not grant restrictive territories to franchisees. Our franchisees can operate their business anywhere in Australia and take referrals from businesses anywhere.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. All the fees charged by the franchisor are listed in the franchisor’s Disclosure Document. The Disclosure Document will be

provided to you along with a copy of our standard Franchise Agreement and the Franchising Code of Conduct well before you are required to make any commitment or pay any money.

How long will it take a new franchisee to make money?

Franchisees can start making money almost straight away if they follow the plan.

Who advertises my business?

The franchise agreement requires franchisees to diligently promote their business. This means undertaking advertising and marketing activities to stimulate your business growth.

What accounting support does Award Bookkeeping Company provide?

Bookkeeping generally involves the collation and computation of historical financial transactions. The accounting support we provide includes anything accounting related and is provided by QUALIFIED and EXPERIENCED accountants.

What knowledge does a franchisee require?

Franchisees need to have a minimum CERT IV in Financial Services Bookkeeping.

How long does the franchise agreement last?

The franchise agreement is a 7 year agreement with a 7 year option.

Can a franchisee sell their business?

Yes. A franchise is entitled to sell their business at any time.

Who do the clients belong to?

When the franchise period concludes the clients must be passed to the franchisor for distribution to other franchisees.

Award Names Franchise of the Year

The Award Bookkeeping Company is pleased to announce the winner of the Franchisee of the Year for 2012 is John Maher, owner of The Award Bookkeeping Company – Loganholme, which is based in Brisbane.

The announcement was made at the Award Bookkeeping Company’s 2013 Annual National Conference which was held at the Marriott Hotel Circular Quay in Sydney this week-end.

Speaking at the Conference, the managing director of the Award Bookkeeping Company, Patricia Howard, said it was significant that such a long-standing franchisee had won the converted Franchisee of the Year Award.
